Calling all digital planetarium fans and science enthusiasts. Don’t miss an extraordinary opportunity taking place on May 30 and 31, 2026, at the Brno Observatory and Planetarium\u2019s Digitarium. This very weekend features a unique event \u2013 DigiFest 2026.<\/p>\n\n
What is the event about? Simply put, it is a showcase of the latest unique films that you can see in Brno for the first time and… in most cases, for the last time. These films are produced by both small independent creators and large production companies, spanning from Canada to Japan. How is this possible?<\/p>\n\n
The eleventh edition of the Fulldome Festival Brno\u2014one of the largest events of its kind in the world, if not the largest\u2014takes place just a few days before DigiFest. This international showcase features the latest educational films and attracts planetarium professionals and producers from more than 23 countries worldwide.<\/p>\n\n
From this vast selection, the Brno Observatory and Planetarium team has curated the most compelling pieces to be featured alongside four award-winning shows from the festival. These include the Director\u2019s Award of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium, given to a production slated for a future Czech-language release. The Audience Award is decided by the festival\u2019s 170 attendees, while two additional awards are determined by the Fulldome Festival Brno 2026 international jury. In total, the industry-only section of the festival will showcase 46 productions with a combined runtime of 16 hours, ranging from 2 to 40 minutes in length.<\/p>\n\n
